About Me
Hi, thanks for stopping by! How did my yoga journey begin?
I can recall my mom inviting me to go to a yoga class with her in the mid 70’s, I had heard of yoga, but really had no idea what it was. Yet, at 11 years old, I had no reason to say no. I was a non-stop somersaulting, cart-wheeling, front hand-springing kind of kid, maybe she was trying to get me to settle down! I don’t recall much from those classes, but I believe it ignited a spark.
As I reached adulthood, I practiced yoga off and on without a lot of regularity; when my children began high school, I began to delve a bit deeper, practicing more, setting up space in my house and looking into becoming a teacher. In 2017 I signed up for my teacher training and my journey began.
I received my RYT 200 and began to teach. I have taught in studios, gyms, churches, community colleges, nature and via ZOOM (Covid inspired).
If you are interested in some inner and outer work, please take a look. I love teaching, especially to the senior population. I am hoping to bring yoga into more people’s lives. We are all running at such a fast pace and yes, yoga can calm your mind and help you to slow down, but did you know, Restorative Yoga has been shown to be a great way to burn fat. How? The mind – body connection; the release of cortisol (stress hormone). Come and give it a try!

My Teaching Style
My teaching is a mix of vinyasa and a slow flow, that can depend on the day, the class or a little of each. My classes are as challenging as you want them to be, or as gentle. I offer modifications so everyone has a safe and productive class. I embrace pranayama (breath work) as I believe our world needs more focus on calm. Paying attention to your breathing can be extremely beneficial to your body. I also honor our time together by ending with savasana, (corpse pose) which has been said to be the most important pose in any yoga practice!
Teaching online was new to me in 2020, everyone was trying to find a way to connect, keep our sanity and some normalcy in our lives. I do not currently have any scheduled online classes, but stay tuned for updates in the next couple of months!
